About CatHive: who we are and how we work

CatHive is an online shop for replacement catalytic converters, DPFs, exhaust pipes, DPF pressure pipes and fitting kits. This shop, www.cathive.ie, serves drivers and garages in the Republic of Ireland. It is run by PLEXPAD LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, and parts are sent from the UK. This page sets out who we are, how we choose the parts we sell, how we write our guides and how to reach us.

Who we are

CatHive is the trading name of PLEXPAD LTD. The company’s details are public on the UK’s Companies House register.

Company PLEXPAD LTD, trading as CatHive
Registered in England and Wales, company number 14156842
UK VAT registration number GB526990163
Registered office 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom
Directors Lech Madrzyk and Lukasz Janowski

We sell online and by phone. The registered office is our legal address, not a shop: there is no counter or collection point, and every order is delivered.

What we sell

In this shop we sell only type-approved catalytic converters, DPFs and petrol particulate filters (GPFs), including combined units, plus exhaust pipes, DPF pressure pipes and fitting kits.

Every part we sell is made by one British manufacturer, certified to ISO 9001, and each carries a pin-stamped serial number that traces it through manufacture. We chose a single manufacturer we could stand behind rather than a mixed catalogue of unknown origin: read about the manufacturer.

Prices are in euro and are export prices: no VAT is included. Irish VAT at 23% and any customs duty are collected by the courier before or on delivery, together with its clearance fee, and we show an estimate of the Irish VAT under each price. Delivery is €30.99 per order, usually 2 to 3 working days from dispatch (delivery details). Delivering to Northern Ireland? Please order from our UK shop.

How we choose the right part for your vehicle

Type approval. Replacement catalytic converters and DPFs are controlled by EU type-approval rules, and in this shop we sell only type-approved ones. They have an H at the end of the part number and are marked Type Approved on the product page, and every product page lists the vehicles, years and Euro level the part is catalogued for. Our guide to type approval and the law in Ireland explains the rules.

Fit. Every part is catalogued against the vehicles it fits, by model, engine and years. Search by Irish registration on our home page, or browse by make and model, to see the parts listed for your vehicle. Not sure? Send us your registration through our contact form before you order and we will confirm the fit in writing.

Our fitment guarantee. If a part we list for your exact vehicle, or confirm in writing, does not fit it, we collect it at our cost and you choose between the correct part and a full refund including delivery. The limits are set out on our Returns page.

Warranty and your rights. Every part carries a manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects: two years, or three years on premium silicon-carbide (“P”) DPFs. The fitment guarantee and the warranty are in addition to your rights under Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022, and do not limit them. See warranty and how to claim.

How we write our guides

Our Help & Advice guides and blog articles are written by the CatHive team to answer the questions drivers and garages bring to us: why a part failed, what the NCT checks, what the law requires and how a part is fitted. The versions on this shop are written for Ireland.

We write from primary sources: EU legislation on EUR-Lex, Irish legislation on the Irish Statute Book, the RSA’s NCT manual, and manufacturers’ technical documents. Our blog articles and our guides to the law number their sources in the text and list them at the end, so you can check each fact yourself. What we cannot verify, we leave out. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will correct it.

LEGAL GUARANTEE Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods: do not match the description; do not function as intended. Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer: free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year. For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees What to do if you receive non-conforming goods: 1 Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue; 2 Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement. [GARAN✓] Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
